María Falcon LPC-S

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S) in the State of Texas. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I completed my Master’s Degree in the State University of Puerto Rico.  I moved to San Antonio, Texas with my family more than 28 years ago. I consider Texas my second home.

I have clinical experience facilitating individual, family and group counseling with children, teens and adults victims of domestic violence, chemical dependency and mental health issues.  I believe that individuals have the potential to overcome life challenges, when compassionate counseling services are available to them.  Therefore, my approach as a counselor is to help individuals rediscover their problem-solving potentials, which will result in a more satisfying outcome to them.

My counseling sessions will be a safe place where my clients can expect to be listened to with respect, and without being judged. We will work together developing goals in a realistic, and measurable manner.  Counseling can also be a fun and relaxing place.  I like to encourage my clients to participate in creative ways to express themselves such as but not limited to music, arts, dance and writing.  My greatest mission as a counselor is to empower my clients, by helping them become healthy and productive individuals.

I enjoy traveling with my family.  I also love to walk, paint, write music, play the guitar and build dolls houses with my granddaughters.  I want to emphasize, that I discovered my artistic abilities through my counseling work with my clients.  My clients are an inspiration in my life, personally and professionally.
