Jill First, LPC

Jill First LPC

Jill First, LPC, works with children (ages 4 and up), teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions. With over a decade of experience as a licensed therapist — and a professional background that includes special education, child protective services, foster care, school counseling, and FEMA crisis response. Jill brings a deep understanding of both individual and family systems to her work.

Jill is known for being empathetic, steady, and deeply invested in her clients’ healing. She creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported from the very first session. Whether working with a young child through play therapy or helping an adult rebuild confidence and coping skills, Jill meets each client at their own pace and honors their unique story.

She specializes in helping clients manage depression and anxiety, strengthen self-esteem, and develop practical coping skills. When working with children, Jill incorporates play therapy techniques such as art, music, and role-play to help them express emotions in developmentally appropriate ways. With adults, she focuses on building resilience, restoring calm, and helping clients reconnect with joy. â€‹Having firsthand experience as a caregiver to her elderly mother, Jill offers compassionate support to clients balancing the emotional and practical demands of caring for aging loved ones.

Jill believes that healing is a process, and her role is to walk alongside clients as they rediscover their strength and learn to trust themselves again. Her goal is not just symptom relief, but helping clients feel more confident, capable, and at peace in their daily lives.

Outside of the therapy room, Jill enjoys gardening, ballroom dancing, and spending time with friends. She believes that growth happens when we allow ourselves to be led by hope rather than fear.
